Fue Technique
While the Fue technique is applied, no cutting and stitching processes are carried out in the area from where, the hair was taken. Holes, of which their diameters are smaller than 1 mm, appear in the area. But, these holes close in a few days and heal without leaving a scar. Hair follicles can be taken from all parts of the head; there is no need to focus on the back side only. Moreover, hairs from every part of the body, such as chest can be taken and transplanted to the head, if needed. Follicles taken from the head can also be transplanted to other parts of the body (such as mustache).

Depending on density and structure of the hair, mostly 5 thousand grafts can be transplanted in one session. In fact, the general average is between 2500 and 3500 grafts. Every follicle has hairs, of which their numbers vary from 1 to 4 (sometimes 5), but are usually 2-3. In an average session, hairs between 7 thousand and 15 thousand can be transplanted.

As the diameter of the removed follicular unit is less than 1 mm, it would be possible to transplant through very small holes in the place where the operation will be performed. This means a denser and more aesthetic transplant. It is possible to place 60-80 or even more follicles into per square centimeter. You don’t feel any surgical pain or stress during the operation. Thanks to this method, you will not have to carry sutures for a determined time or have them removed.

What are the Stages of FUE Technique?

A preparatory stage is needed and takes approximately one hour. Photos of the areas to be planted are shooted, the areas, from where follicles will be taken and, into which they will be placed are determined at this stage. Before follicle removal process, the hair in the donor area is cut and shortened to 1 mm. The area, from where the follicles will be taken, and the area to be planted are locally anesthetized.

Hair follicles are taken one by one from their places with special needles. These tube shaped needles have diameters between 0.5–0.9 mm and special point design. There is also a lumen in it. The needle lumen is brought close to the skin by centering middle of the hair, and it is sticked into the skin by 6-7 mm and pulled back in accordance with the growth angle of hair. The hair and its follicle are removed together with the very small skin tissue surrounding the hair. It is sensitively pulled with a micro forceps; the follicular unit leaves from the loose and comes out.

Opening channels in the area to be transplanted takes about 1-2 hours. After the area to be transplanted is anesthesied, the operation is carried out thanks to special channel openers prepared according to the thickness and depth of the follicles.

The channels are opened with the help of special equipment by using micro lateral slit method and the hair follicles are placed with the help of special micro surgical forceps. The placement of the follicles takes the time between 3 and 6 hours. A natural hairline is created fitting to the area to be transplanted, the patient and his face.

Transplanted hair would temporarily shed while it is washed. It starts to grow again after 2-3 months. At the end of 6 months, significant amount of the hair, between 80%-90% will have grown. At the end of 8-12 months, you will have natural hair to which you will be able to apply every style that you want.

FUE Technique
In the FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) technique, the hair is taken from the same area as done in the FUT technique. In other words, it is taken from the area between the two ears, slightly above the nape. But the way used to remove the hair is different. The hair is taken with a punch tool, of which its diameter is 1 mm. The number of hairs in each taken tissue, of which it’s diameter is 1 mm, may be around one, two or three.
How many hairs are transplanted with the FUE Technique?
In this technique, between 1000 and 1500 hairs can be transplanted in one day. The procedure can be applied for 3-4 days in a row. If this is done, 4000-5000 hairs can be transplanted. The number of sessions depends on the number of hair follicles to be transplanted and the size of hairless or sparse area.
